How do I change the icons of file types?

I have some icons that are designed for formats e.g. it says DOC or MP3 on the icon. How do I set that icons for all files of that type?





I know how to change icons of individual files and folders.

I am using Vista.

Control Panel =%26gt; Associate File or Protocol... only changes icon in respect to the program you use e.g. Word or Wordpad, but can't set just the icon.How do I change the icons of file types?
right click on the file you want to change, then click properties, then customize.How do I change the icons of file types?
If you right click on an item then select properties you should be able to change the icon from there.
