How do you change the text document icon to the normal windows xp icon?

For some reason all of my text documents have this old text document icon and I want to change the icon back to normal.How do you change the text document icon to the normal windows xp icon?
It depends on what program you have associated with your text files... whether they be .txt, .doc, or other.



To change file type associations, open my computer, select tools --%26gt; folder options. Select the File types tab.



Scroll down to the extension you are looking to change... be it .txt or .doc and change the program associated with it.



By default .txt files are associated with notepad.exe and .doc files could be wordpad or Microsoft Office.How do you change the text document icon to the normal windows xp icon?
Right click the file, click open with. Scroll down till you find the program that you would normaly use to open it and click it once. Check the %26quot;open with this program every time this type of file is openned%26quot; checkbox and click ok it should make it go back to normal.
