How do i change icon to a filetype when, in Folder Options - File Type instead of Advanced there is "Restore"?

I may have not been completely clear because of letter limitations in the question, so what i meant was that when i try to change the icon of a particular file type, i go in Tools -%26gt; Folder Options -%26gt; File Types, i select the extension which i want to change the icon to, and instead of the button %26quot;Advanced%26quot;, where i would expect to find the %26quot;Change Icon%26quot; option, i find a %26quot;Restore%26quot; button.



I translated the words from the italian version, so instead of %26quot;Folder Options%26quot; %26quot;Advanced%26quot; and %26quot;Restore%26quot; there might be similar words.. ayway if you know what i'm speaking of, you get the point.How do i change icon to a filetype when, in Folder Options - File Type instead of Advanced there is %26quot;Restore%26quot;?
There are 2 options to change it



If you click on restore it will change the filetype icon back to the original default. Then the advanced option will come back for you after restoring.

right click on the icon you wish to change.. scroll down to properties ...click on customize tab.. at the bottom there is 'change icon'.. good luck
