How to change a desktop icon and keep the same name and function of it.?

I have tried the usual procedure e.g.: right click on desktop-properties-change icon and so on. After that an insignificant icon popsup on screen which is not the one I had chosen during the process. Also I have right ckicked on the Icon I want to change, done same steps but the result is the same.Txs, a semibegginnerHow to change a desktop icon and keep the same name and function of it.?

You can click right button on a selected icon and then pop up menu comes and then click on a properties and then properties window gets open then click on a customise option and then click on a option change icon and now choose your icon and click on a option apply and then ok.How to change a desktop icon and keep the same name and function of it.?
If you simply want to change the picture of just that one icon, make a shortcut of it. You can then change the picture.

if you want to change the icon but maintain the original function do the following:



---before trying to modify any icon, you need to know the path of the icon you want to use to replace the targetted icon. once the path is located by copying the path of the image of the desired icon you can then do the following procedure:



- Right clicking the Shortcut Icon.



- Go to the bottom of the list and click on %26quot;Properties%26quot;



- Click the %26quot;Change Icon%26quot; button in the middle area of the newly opened window.



- paste the path of the desired icon image and select the icon.



- Click %26quot;ok%26quot; and %26quot;Apply%26quot;
