How to change the cursor in Microsoft Outlook?

ONLY in the MS Outlook application, (all other MS applications are fine), the 'hand' icon appears even when attempting to highlight/select the message. What settings need to be adjusted in order to change icon back to the 'selection' icon (which is shaped like a capital I in times new roman)How to change the cursor in Microsoft Outlook?
You're gonna have to delve into some Outlook VBA code I believe. I've worked with VBA code in all of the office products except Outlook, so I can't offer code for you. But I found a forum that deals with it. I'd suggest scrolling around here and seeing if you see your answer. If not, you can start a thread on it:

The icon is actually the mouse icon and is controlled by Windows. You can change the way it looks there and unfortunately it changes for all applications. It should be changing when you hover over something linkable. You might be able to reduce its effect by changing the editor / browser from probably HTML, to Word by going to Tools, Optons, Mail Format.
