How do you change the icon pics on your desktop?

I've seen some people's costomized desktops and sometimes they have like... little anime characters heads as the icon pic, instead of the original picture.

Like for example, instead of the little yellow folder, they have an anime face instead. Does anyone know how I can do that? I've always wanted to.

It's probably really obvious. But I can be clueless. How do you change the icon pics on your desktop?

I never made an animated icon, but I've made a lot of ordinary icons. Try to use an icon editor or, if you have none and don't want to get one, use any image-editing program (%26quot;Paint%26quot; does a good job). Create a picture of 32X32 pixels and draw whatever you want to have in the future icon. When you're done, save the picture you created as a %26quot;Windows bitmap%26quot; but use the %26quot;.ico%26quot; extension.

Now open the folder you saved the picture in and look for your icon. If you see your icon in the folder, you made it. If you see a file named something like %26quot;filename.ico.bmp%26quot;, rename it to %26quot;filename.ico%26quot;.

Now go to the desktop, right-click the element you want to change the icon for, select the %26quot;Properties%26quot; command then, in the box that appears, click the %26quot;Change Icon%26quot; button and browse for your icon. Click %26quot;OK%26quot; in all boxes to close them.

That would be all. Good luck! How do you change the icon pics on your desktop?

otherwise ( the icon is not a shortcut )

either select from the list shown, or browse to another file containing icons.( you can download these from somewhere )
